Acting Canucks GM Tambellini to keep quiet until meeting with owner

VANCOUVER - Steve Tambellini returns to Vancouver today after scouting a tournament in Russia. Wait until he finds out what happened while he was gone.

The Canucks' assistant general manager arrived at the under-18 world championship just hours before his boss, Dave Nonis, was fired Monday by owner Francesco Aquilini. Tambellini was named in absentia the interim head of hockey operations.

He told The Vancouver Sun this week that he wants to meet face-to-face with his bosses, Aquilini and chief executive officer Chris Zimmerman, before commenting on the dismissal of his friend and general manager.
