Ringo Starr Cancels All Starr Show Due To Equipment Truck Breakdown On Canadian Border

By: Howie Edelson

Ringo Starr's All Starr Band concert in Bethel, New York, scheduled for Saturday night (June 21st), was cancelled only hours before it was set to begin.

The show was supposed to take place at the Bethel Woods Center for the Arts, but was cancelled "due to a transportation and equipment breakdown at the United States border." Starr and his band had opened the tour on Thursday and Friday in Ontario.

Although an email had been sent out to ticket holders, hundreds of concertgoers only learned of the cancellation upon reaching the venue, about two hours north of New York City.

Ticketmaster is refunding all tickets and no make up date will be played.

Joining Starr on his 10th All Starr tour are Colin Hay of Men At Work, Billy Squier, Hamish Stuart of the Average White Band and Paul McCartney's band, Edgar Winter, and Gary Wright. Starr is sharing drum duties with Gregg Bissonette, who has played with Starr in his side band the Roundheads.
