Two young men have been charged with the murder of a teen from the Tamil community in the Toronto suburb of Scarborough who was beaten and stabbed last week outside a convenience store.
Annushath Indrakanthan, 19, was attacked by two men in a plaza on Bonis Avenue in Scarborough just after noon on July 20.
At the time, police said the assailants attacked him with "an edged weapon and an unknown additional weapon."
Witnesses told police there were five males in a vehicle and that two of the occupants jumped out, attacked Indrakanthan, and then jumped back in, and the car took off.
Indrakanthan suffered serious stab wounds and died later in hospital.
Vikas Dahiya, 21, of Toronto and Anriksh Singh, 19, of Markham, have been charged with first-degree murder.
