A two-year-old boy who walked away from a campsite north of Ross River, Yukon, has been found safe following an air and ground search.
Details were still emerging Friday night, but RCMP Sgt. Don Rogers said from Whitehorse the boy was being examined by paramedics.
The boy was initially reported missing from the campsite near Tay Creek at about 6 p.m. PT Thursday.
Tay Creek is just off the North Canol Highway, about 50 kilometres from Ross River.
At one point, a helicopter with infrared radar, a search dog and nearly 20 police officers and search officials were combing the woods looking for the boy.
Police said the child's family is believed to be from the Kamloops, B.C., area and was on a camping trip.
